Setting Up the Server

1. Getting the IP AddressFirst, we need to find the IP address for your Antminer S19j Pro+. Bitmain offers a tool called IPReporter to assist in this process. Note that the IPReporter tool is supported by Microsoft Windows only.
   • Visit the following site: Bitmain Support
   • Download the file: IPReporter.zip.
   • Extract the file.
   • Right-click “IPReporter.exe” and run it as Administrator.
   • Choose either “Shelf, Step, Position” for farm servers to mark the location of the servers, or “Default” for home servers.
   • Click “Start”.
   • 

   Now, on your Antminer S19j Pro+’s controller board, press the IP Report button and hold it down until it beeps (about 5 seconds). The IP address will be displayed in a window on your computer screen.

   

2. Accessing the ServerIn your web browser, enter the IP address provided. Use ‘root’ for both the username and password to login. If you want to assign a Static IP address, you can do that under the Protocol section. Enter the IP address, Subnet mask, gateway, and DNS Server, then click “Save”.

Configuring the Server

1. Setting Up the PoolTo configure your Antminer S19j Pro+:
   • Click “Setting”.

   Note: Fan speed can be adjusted, but keeping the default setting is recommended. If no fan speed is selected, the server will adjust it automatically. The S19 series server has two working modes: Normal and Sleep.

   • Click the “Miner Configuration” tab to set up your mining pools. Input the mining pool URL and worker name, then click “Save”.

   Note: In this guide, we use Antpool as an example. You are free to use other mining pools.

Monitoring Your Server

To check the status of your server, click on the dashboard. From there, you can check various parameters like the number of chips detected, ASIC frequency setting, real-time Hashrate, inlet and outlet temperatures, and the chip state.

Administering Your Server

1. Checking Your Firmware VersionTo find your current firmware version, navigate to the system settings on your server, and find the firmware version displayed at the bottom.
2. Upgrading Your FirmwareEnsure your Antminer S19j Pro+ server stays powered during the upgrade process. To upgrade:
   • Click “Firmware Upgrade” under the System settings.
   • Choose “keep settings” to retain your current settings or deselect to reset to default settings.
   • Click the upload button and select the firmware file, then click “Update”.
   • Restart your server once the upgrade completes.
3. Changing Your PasswordTo change your password, navigate to the “Password” setting under the System settings. Enter your new password, and then click “Save”.
4. Restoring Initial SettingsTo restore your server to its default settings, let your server run for 5 minutes. Then, on the front panel of the controller, press and hold the Reset button for 10 seconds. The red LED will flash once every 15 seconds if the reset is successful.

As we know very well hiveOS is one of the leading mining software and monitoring provider. It is very advanced and has a lot of features to modify and monitor mining rigs. If you don’t know how to start using hiveOS we have installation guide here. They do support also Asic miner monitoring and control.

Their software is very useful , specially if you do have a large mining farm. It makes your life much easier, previously we have used other mining monitoring. Ethos, simplemining and others, but always with these software you had some kind of issue (problem with drivers, late on new miner releases, limited updates , limited monitoring). Hiveos is really next level mining software everyone should use, so recently they have released their firmware for Bitmain antminer S9. So we took it and tested what is the performance like.

Hiveos seems like advanced software but it is quite easy to use, but of course you need little practice. Same like bought new car and need to used to it, same thing here.

• So first of all you need to connect miner to your hiveOS account , to do that it is quite easy. You need to logon to your Antminer S9 trough putty or similar ssh tool, default username always is root and password is admin.
• When you have logged in Antminer S9 replace your_hash_from_web (you can find your farm hash in your hiveos farm settings) and paste in this piece of code in console

  cd /tmp && curl -L --insecure -s -O https://raw.githubusercontent.com/minershive/hiveos-asic/master/hive/bin/selfupgrade && FARM_HASH=your_hash_from_web sh selfupgrade

• It will take few seconds and miner will show up in your hiveOS account. After that you can change miner username if you would like also in miner settings.
• Next up is create a wallet (for example if you will be mining on slush pool, your wallet will be slushpool.com username).
• Create flights sheet, you can connect your miner to mining pool directly without login in to your miner. Like its done traditionally on Bitmain asic miners.
• Upgrade your miner with hiveos firmware, you can do this directly from your hiveos account.

• Apply overclocking to you miner. They have this feature auto chip tuning, where you choose mining speed. And the miner will auto configure every miner separate, by testing its performance to apply most optimum overclock. But be aware if you are overclocking to much, you might need a bigger powersupply and your miner could overheat. If you don’t have any cooling for your farm.
